Your enthusiasm, dedication, and genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and staff is much appreciated and makes such a difference for our students. Whether you're assisting in the classroom or library, organizing events, or offering your expertise in various projects, your contributions are truly invaluable and speak to the power of our White Eagle community.
So, as we celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week, please know that your efforts are deeply appreciated and cherished. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of so many.
With sincere gratitude,
The White Eagle Elementary Staff
Family Math Night was AMAZING!!
Our first ever Family Math Night was a HUGE success! We had over 225 students & families in attendance--WOW! Thank you to our families who attended & a very special thank you to our teachers & staff members who have been planning this event for months.
Celebrating our diverse languages!
Привет/Pree-vet
During our Immersion Experience over the past 3 weeks, we have had a great time learning about some of the different languages WE students speak. This past week we learned some words in Pусский (Russian). There are 98 students who speak Russian at White Eagle!
While we have been learning words from different languages, we have also had lessons about good communication strategies. This week, we learned to look for clues, use resources (technology, other students, teachers), and to practice patience and kindness when we are communicating with others.
Ask your student(s) to share with you what they have learned from our Russian speakers this week. 🙂
FUN FACTS:
Russia is the biggest country in the world and the area of Russia is about equal to the size of the dwarf planet pluto. Russia and the United States are only separated by 4 km/ 2.5 miles of water, which is about as far as White Eagle is to Andy’s Custard. The Russian alphabet used to have a bunch more letters, like 10 more, but they were eliminated. The first human in space was Russian. Astronauts have to learn Russian as part of their training. Russian and English are the languages of space!
