HIVE Society
January/February 4th Edition
From the Principal's Desk
January and February have been amazing months for students and staff at the HIVE. Teachers are implementing many strategies that help students learn in multiple ways. Many of the students are sharing their enjoyment for school which is a goal for any educational environment. I want to reassure parents, the HIVE follows the same state standards that HHS and HMS follow. Expectations are not lower; we just offer multiple ways to learn the same concept. If your child states they are enjoying learning, this is a good thing to share. We are proud that students are enjoying school especially students who need additional support.
In addition to changing the perception of the HIVE, I am very proud to share that 2 of our students are participants in a teacher apprentice class. These young scholars go to Larson and assist as a peer mentor to our youth. They help our young learners with reading, which is overseen by Mrs. Lewis one of our title one teachers. Thank you Larson for this opportunity.
Lastly, I would like to give a huge thank you to our student leadership team. This young team is making great strides organizing volunteer work and organizing ways to empower students who attend the HIVE to have an appropriate voice and make better choices to improve their character. This team of students is also organizing a clothing drive and food drive for pets. The food they collect will be donated to our local animal shelter to feel our homeless animals. When you see a student who attends the HIVE, thank them for their service.
Peace,
Van 😊✌
