Speeding Toward Thanksgiving Break!
As we blast through these last few days before Thanksgiving Break, we certainly have MUCH to be thankful for! Of course the students are not especially thankful for the slate of tests they have this week before having next week off....but they will be thankful for (hopefully) less homework during the break!
We wrapped up our successful Fall theater production, "Look Who's Laughing," last weekend and sports are transitioning to basketball and swimming season. Speech and Debate is beginning another promising season after placing 7 students in the National Tournament last year. During the Fall, our girls volleyball and softball teams qualified for regional playoffs as did our boys soccer team! Our football team may not have won any games, but they definitely won the life lessons that will help them win in life. We also had several cross-country winners advance to post-season competition. Details on all this and much more will be in the next Pirate Treasure Magazine that will be published and in your mailboxes before Christmas!
Our Alumni are one of our biggest blessings at St. Mary's and I am grateful for the notes and updates many of you shared with me since the first alumni newsletter went out a little over a month ago. THANK YOU for your support to St. Mary's!
Thank you,

BUT....we are missing a few yearbooks and have nothing to scan. If you have access to a yearbook (in good condition) for the following years, please let me know!
Missing yearbooks: 1986, 1968, 1966, 1965 and 1964
We only need to borrow the yearbook to scan the pictures and then the yearbook will be returned to you.
Alumni Social and Flag Football Tournament - December 26th
To help burn off some holiday calories and prepare for the Alumni Social, we are also organizing an Alumni Flag Football Tournament for earlier in the day on Dec 26th at the "Let's Play" Colorado Springs Sports Center (thank you Colleen Paap!). "Let's Play" is located at 2450 Canada Drive, 80915. Check-in and warm-ups will start at 10 am and depending on how many teams register, we should be done by 3pm (or so). We are planning for a Men's Alumni-Only Division, Women's Alumni-Only Division and a Family Division where immediate family members age 8 and up may play together. Divisions will be subject to change depending on number and types of teams who register. Teams will be 4-on-4 and your roster can include a couple of subs. Cost is only $30 per player or $60 for a family. Lunch, drinks and equipment will be provided....talent is up to you! You can register by clicking here or use the "Alumni Flag Football" button on the main page of our website www.smhscs.org.
