Lock Down Drill
The Bay Lane Elementary Lock down Drill is scheduled for Friday, Nov 16, 2018 in cooperation with the Muskego Police Department.
All Wisconsin public schools are required to facilitate two lock down drills a school year in order to be better prepared to respond if an intruder were to enter a school building. Last year the Muskego-Norway School District changed our customary procedure (shelter silently in place) and we now facilitate a discussion over the PA system, focusing on alerting others, determining escape routes, blocking doorways and shielding students and staff in the event of an intruder. Our goal is to ensure the safety of our students. Thank you for your continued support.
The link provided includes tips and talking points for parents with children who are struggling to understand high profile acts of violence. NASP School Safety Talking Points for Parents.
Please contact Principal, Sara Stanley, sara.stanley@muskegonorway.org with any questions.
Veteran's Day Program
Attendance
As of November 5th, 2018, at Bay Lane Elementary 52% of our absences, this school year, have been due to illness or appointments. While we can’t always prevent children from getting sick and we certainly want sick children to stay home and get better, we also want them in school whenever they can be. Here are the Guidelines for keeping Sick Children Home.
