Back to IN PERSON Learning: Monday, January 11, 2021
Information on Remaining Remote
We understand that there is some confusion as to why we are continuing to be remote on January 4, following the updated guidance from Governor Whitmer on 12/18/2020. We must not only follow state recommendations, but we must also follow our local health department guidance.
Our decision to remain remote for the first week back after Christmas break is based on a direct recommendation from the Calhoun County Public Health Department that “The Calhoun County Public Health Department, out of an abundance of caution, is recommending for our school districts to avoid in person instruction at all grade levels from January 4-11th 2021 to allow for a minimum quarantine of 10 days to be completed after the Christmas and New Year Holidays.”
Homer will continue remote learning for all students from January 4-8th 2021. A return to 5 days a week of in-person instruction for grades K-12 will begin on January 11, 2021.
Please have all students check their email on January 4 for any updated schedules and their expectations for the day! We can't wait to see our students virtually on January 4, but more importantly, in person on MONDAY, January 11, 2021!
Thank you for your continued understanding and patience!
