Keeping Up with Comm Arts
~ March 25, 2024 ~
Hello Comm Arts Family and Friends!
Our Comm Arts Banquet on Saturday was spectacular. StuCo did a fantastic job decorating and hosting the event. It was great to see the students who attended. Many even dressed to impress with the event theme of Enchanted Forest.
Report cards were passed out to students during their 2nd-period class last Friday. Students, we only have one more grading period. Let's finish the year with academic excellence.
We have a four-day school week. Friday, March 29th, is a student and staff holiday. The Communications Arts building will be closed.
Juniors and seniors with off-campus lunch, please stop by our front office for your off-campus sticker for the last grading cycle. Remember that eligibility is determined based on AP exam fees, attendance, and grades.
Highlights
Jazz Festival
Spanish National Honor Society
The Spanish National Honor Society took a guided tour of the San Jose Mission. They learned of daily life within the fort's walls and had fun demonstrating their "hunting" skills by throwing a spear-sized dart. Then, they witnessed the splendor of the beautiful church constructed in 1768, which still holds weekly mass services and weddings.
From there, they went downtown to the Historic Market Square, El Mercado, to eat lunch at one of the food courts or the famous Mi Tierra and browse the many shops selling Latin American products. Learning about local Spanish history was so much fun!

AP World History Review Sessions
We are 51 days from the AP World History Exam—Mr. Harris’s annual after-school CRAM SESSIONS in the LGI from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Last year, they had the best participation, and their scores were also the best. It is not a coincidence. We will meet on Thursday after school this week, but it will be held on Wednesdays in the following weeks. Please encourage your students to attend. If you want to purchase a great study guide for your student, the book attached to this link works very well. Optional study guide

Solar Eclipse
The solar eclipse event is coming up on April 8th, 2024. Please schedule any pick-ups or deliveries before noon or after two. Both campuses will be closed for safety reasons while the eclipse is in full effect. We have safety glasses and a safety lesson by our science teacher, Mr. Martin. He will also have telescopes for us to use. Again - please conduct all office business before noon or after two because we will be closed to concentrate on our 530 students. This is an opt-out form if you do not wish for your child to view the event.
