Apryl..."is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Michigan State University Neuroscience Program where she researches the effects of traumatic stress on the brain. A scientist by training, a writer by practice, and an artist by nature, all of Apryl's work is inspired by the drive to make sense of the world around her and to help others do the same." - GoodReads
"As a neuroscientist diagnosed with PTSD and alcoholism, Apryl Pooley thought if she could find the biological reason for why her life was falling apart, she'd find her cure. However, the more she devoted herself to research, the less she understood her own condition. Her personal journey to reconnect has led her to become a community leader, as well as a published author. " -TEDXMSU
Apryl authored a memoir, Shadow Brain: A Neuroscientist's Journey Through PTSD and Womanhood, and was a contributor to Robbed of Sleep, Volume 2: Stories to Stay Up For. Apryl was also a participant in the recent TEDXMSU event.
