Stormwater Poster Contest-Grades 2-5
Clean River Partners (CRP) and the City of Northfield are proud to announce our Ninth Annual Stormwater Poster Contest!
In honor of Earth Month (April), we invite all youth in grades 2-5 who live in the City of Northfield to participate in our contest entitled, "Be the Solution to Stormwater Pollution." Posters are due by 4:00 pm on Monday, May 1st.
What is Stormwater?
Everything in our streets, sidewalks and even in our yards can end up in the Cannon River from leaves and litter to dog waste and the salt on our sidewalks. Your students can join youth across the city to make a poster highlighting what we can do to keep the Cannon River Clean!
Winners in each age group will be honored at a City Council meeting and have their posters on display for a year at Northfield City Hall. Prizes include free Frozen Custard and free admission to the Northfield Swimming Pool.
Attached below is a contest flyer (in both English and Spanish), a teacher information sheet, a poster tips sheet and a list of stormwater videos.
I've also created a short video you can play for your students. Here's the link: https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/697023437
Feel free to contact me via email at Kevin@CleanRiverPartners .
Lunch Guests
It is great having parents join our kiddos for lunch! Please help remind your child that they are welcome to invite only two other students to join them. More than that can create a lot of chaos and not much eating takes place. Thank you for your help! ♥️

Community School
My name is Emma Freedman and I am the new coordinator for the Community School after school programs. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of the students attending Community School!
Here are some details that you might need:
Community School started on Monday (4/5), but clubs will not begin until Wednesday (4/12). On Monday (4/10), and Tuesday (4/11) students will be grouped by grade level. During the first four days, students selected which clubs they would like to attend in the upcoming weeks. For example, on Wednesday all students will select one club which they will attend on all future Wednesdays. On Thursday they will choose one club which they will attend on all future Thursdays, etc. After students have chosen a club, they will spend the remainder of their day in their grade level groups.
If kids have questions about which clubs they will be able to choose from, here is the link to that information: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JCKWmJuODORn4Si0GURP9Cjk0uSfihfl1HnoVwrKrUY/edit?usp=sharing.
Best Regards!
