NEWS:
YEAR 1: The major assessment for fall semester is the Individual Oral Presentation (IOP). In early September, students will choose the dates to deliver their presentations; the date they choose is the date they will be required to present. Presentations must be completed by Dec. 7. Books for the year are on the summer assignment page in order of how we're reading them. Students may be able to find a PDF of Ballad of the Sad Cafe online.

Juniors enrolled in Spanish HL 1, please be aware that the testing format for World Languages is changing for the year 2020. As the IB DP Programme strives to change assessments every 7 years to align with global strategies and expectations, our IB World Language Year 1 students will be preparing to take the new assessments in Spring 2020. These new assessments differ from those in place for our current Year 2 students. Please do not be surprised to hear IB WL DP students, of differing levels, discussing the preparation for different exams; they have not been misinformed. Students should expect weekly quizzes (Thursday or Friday). The first quiz will be on Friday, August 10th, over elements 1-88. Students should know element names, correct spelling, and symbol. Much like in Chemistry 1, students should expect to have homework every class. IB THEATRE
The IB program would like to welcome Erin Housam to our teaching faculty. Ms. Housam was IB trained in Athens, Greece, and she has taught IB Theatre in Zimbabwe and Morocco. She is thrilled to be back in the theatre classroom, teaching IB Theatre and MYP Theatre 1. Many of our students already know Ms. Housam from her acting coaching with Company West theatrical productions over the past few years. Welcome, Ms. Housam!
