A Word From Principal Haynes
Greetings Parents,
As we prepare to welcome our students and staff back from winter break, we want to advise you of some revised health and safety protocols. At its special meeting on Friday, December 31, 2021, the School Board voted to make face coverings mandatory for all visitors and vendors while inside schools, administrative offices and district vehicles until further notice.
Our school will continue to offer free voluntary COVID-19 testing for students. Parents must have a signed school health services consent form on file and must complete and sign the testing consent form if they want their child to receive this service. Links to these forms are available on our website. Hard copies of the forms are also available in the office. Lastly, as COVID-19 positivity rates continue to rise in our county, we have two requests.
While face coverings are not required for students, we strongly encourage parents to send their children to school with face coverings. We also ask that you extend a measure of grace to us as the rising positivity rates may impact our staffing, as well as some school and district operations. We will communicate any changes in a timely manner. As always, the health and safety of our students and staff members remain our highest priorities. If you have questions or need assistance, please call the school at 754-322-8750.
Best wishes for a safe and prosperous new year!

HEADPHONES FOR STUDENTS!!
If you have not purchased headphones for your child, PLEASE do so ASAP. In order for the children to work on iReady and other computer programs, they NEED headphones! You should purchase a good, steady pair that could last all year. Ear buds are not good for using at school, students need the kind that fits over their ears. Place the headphones in the ziploc bag to REMAIN at school so they don't get damaged.
Identification badges
All of our employees and students are required to wear identification badges at all times while on campus. When visitors are on campus, they are also required to wear some form of identification.
Students will get their ID badges after picture day on September 10th. Lost ID badges will be replaced three (3) times at no cost to the parent. After that, a replacement ID badge will cost $3. It will be the parent's responsibility to pay the fee to replace the badge.
Student Uniforms
Village Elementary is a mandatory unified dress code school. It is expected that all students are in uniform, Monday through Friday with the exception of designated school spirit days which will be announced ahead of time. The student dress code guidelines outlined in the Code of Student Conduct will be enforced.
