Delran High School Broadcast
December 22, 2016
Message From Mr. Finkle
Since this is my last communication with you for this year, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our students and their families a wonderful holiday, a restful winter recess, and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
When we return on Tuesday, January 3rd, we will turn the calendar and immediately begin to think about the 2017-2018 school year. On Wednesday, January 18th, students will have meetings with the high school administration and content supervisors to begin to choose courses for next year. The process is very similar to the past three years, and we will be using the Schedule Waiver Form with a hard deadline of March 29, 2017. The 2017-2018 Program of Studies booklet and the Schedule Waiver Form will be available on our web site shortly. Stay tuned.....................

Lockheed Martin Women in Engineering Day 2016
Lockheed Martin in Moorestown, NJ annually hosts an Engineering Leadership Development Program specifically designed to encourage women in engineering. Each year, they bring female high school sophomores into their facility to engage them in hands on experiences in competition style events, while interacting with female engineering professionals. On Friday, November 18th, the following young women from DHS attended the inspiring event: Alexandra Azoulay, Sarah Schaefer, Katelyn Suszynski, Katherine Taveras and Nicole Ucheya. These young ladies have demonstrated an aptitude for science, technology, engineering and math; and we wish them well in their future educational endeavors.
Thank You For Your Support
The Adopt-A-Family Program is a non-profit fundraiser that DHS started ten years ago. From November to December, the program is dedicated to supporting low income families by collecting donations from the students at DHS based on the wish-lists provided by the families. Transition Project, Freshman Seminar students, and faculty members are the true game changers for this project. Extra-curricular clubs that also participated include: NHS, Student Council, Spanish Club, School Store, Board Office Staff, Tomorrow’s Teachers, Gay Straight Alliance, Transition Class, and DHS Staff Members. This year, we helped over 29 families (101 individuals) from Delran and Camden in need by providing gifts, gift cards, and holiday dinners. Thank you very much for your support and generosity!
Operation Cookie
The Delran History Club, along with help from Ms. Michelle Rubano's English classes, successfully sent 22 boxes of holiday treats to our active service personnel through "Operation Cookie." This is Delran High School's 9th year of taking time out and recognizing the sacrifice our military personnel by sending them treats that remind them of home during this holiday season. Again, thank you for your support and generosity!
