"Maine Literacy Council’s mission is to facilitate literacy collaboration and learning, encourage professional growth, and support a lifetime love of reading and writing." One of the ways we work toward that mission is to communicate with other literacy-minded people. We have a WEBSITE a FACEBOOK PAGE and a TWITTER profile. We want to continue to find opportunities to reach out, connect ,and expand our "tribe"! So we'd like to share our first digital newsletter with you all.

PAX by Sara Pennypacker
Pax is a fox rescued by his boy, Peter. War causes his father to force Peter to abandon Pax. However, Pax and Peter are (as the Buddists say) "Two but not two". Can their "oneness" overcome the incredible obstacles that separate them? What truths will they discover about themselves and others? What truths will the readers discover? Pax may make you think and feel like no other book this year.
