A Message from the Principals
Hello Millbridge families,
We are very excited to kick off a month long celebration for Read Across America. Over the next several weeks, students will have the opportunity to participate in a wide number of activities. We have a number of special guest readers planned and we are very excited for our students to BEE CALM and READ ON. Please consider having your child participate in the picture activity below.
Educationally yours,
Mrs. Lowe and Mrs. Murphy

Read Across America
This year we will be posting pictures of our readers sharing their favorite book. Here is the link to upload pictures of your children reading their favorite books.
Delran High School Diversity Club Mystery Readers
Over the last several weeks, students from the high school’s Diversity Club have visited ten K-2 classes (virtually, of course!) to serve as mystery readers. Prior to the reader visiting, teachers facilitate a conversation with their students regarding the meaning of diversity and the beauty in all of our differences. The reader then joins the class via Google Meet and shares a children’s book with the class that highlights an aspect of diversity or is simply a childhood favorite that they are eager to share. After the reading, the students, teacher, and high school reader engage in a question and answer session. As can be expected with K-2 students, sometimes the questions are related to the story “Why do you think the character wanted to change her name to an “American name” when she moved to the U.S. from Japan?”… and other times they are “so… what’s your favorite animal?!” Our sincere hope is to continue offering this as an opportunity to make connections and celebrate the diversity all around us!
Implicit Bias and Institutional Racism Task Force
As mentioned in the letter from Dr. Brotschul on 2/23/21, the Implicit Bias and Institutional Racism Task Force has formed four building level committees (one at each school). These committees are comprised of students, parents, teachers, classroom management assistants, and administrators. As we work together to analyze our strengths and areas in need of improvement here in Delran, we would love to include more parent voices. If you are interested in joining the committee at Millbridge, please email second grade teacher, Ali Smith, at marysmith@delranschools.org.
School Store Fundraiser
It’s not too late for the SchoolStore.com Fundraiser.
Here is all you need to do for our program to succeed:
1. Go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?158771 and sign up
2. Send form emails inviting family, friends, and co-workers to support your student
3. Although the paper you receive will say to return the envelope, you do not need to return the parent envelope. We will get a report letting us know who has participated
Just for participating, your child will earn a Wild Republic Huggers Mystery Prize. This fundraiser is used to help provide special activities for our students, such as the craft projects that have been done this year to help us celebrate various occasions.
projects that have been done this year to help us celebrate various occasions.
Middle School/High School
The Middle School/High School PTA is having a Delran Garden Flag Fundraiser. Please find all the information and ordering form here.
SURVEY
A survey was emailed yesterday to gather information about returning to in-person learning for the third trimester. This survey was NOT sent to Kindergarten parents. Please make sure that is complete by Monday, March 1st at 10am. If you have already completed that survey, please do not do it again. If you have emailed or called the office or one of the principals about your child returning in person, you will still need to complete the survey in order for us to collect the information needed.
Material Pick-Up
The next material pick-up/drop off event is this Wednesday, March 10th. Materials may be picked up between 9:00-12:00, 1:00-3:00 and 4:30-6:00. It is extremely important that parents bring any work that is requested by their teacher as we are approaching the end of the second trimester.
