Yellow Jacket Nation Notes
4/28/24
Hello Yellow Jacket Nation!
A big shout to the leadership class and the schools that came to Spring Fest! We had a ton of people at the party and it was a great event!
Junior Testing
Juniors will take the science and social studies M-STEP tests as part of their graduation requirements on Tuesday, April 30. It is important that you arrive to school on time with a fully charged Chromebook. Juniors did a great job of handling the technology responsibilities for SAT! Let's repeat that excellence!

Senior Information
Transcripts:
- Seniors DO NOT need to send a mid-year transcript (7th semester grades) unless a postsecondary school specifically requests one.
- Seniors MUST send their final transcript using Parchment to the postsecondary school they plan to attend after high school.
- Final transcripts will be available at the end of June, but can be ordered through Parchment NOW by selecting the "HOLD FOR GRADES" option. If they do not select this option, the transcript will be sent without their final senior-year grades.
- Seniors MUST use their PERSONAL email address & LEGAL name to create an account.
- Click HERE for a guide on Parchment.
- There is no cost for students to order transcripts via Parchment.
- If seniors applied via the Common App, their counselor will automatically upload their mid-year & end-of-year transcripts.
Senior Year Resources:
As seniors begin to think about what they would like to do after high school, we encourage them to take advantage of the opportunities we have at Avondale to learn more about their options! Utilize the High School Counseling's Website.

- SCHOLARSHIPS - This link is updated every time we receive new scholarships for seniors.
- COLLEGE & CAREER REP. VISITS - Seniors must use this form to sign up & choose which school, trade program, or military branch they would like more information on. This form is updated every time a college or career rep. signs up to visit our campus.
- CALENDAR - The calendar includes all events with the Counseling Department.
- APPLICATION OVERVIEW - Use this document as a guide for any application process.
- COMMON APP - Application guide for first-year students.
- MCAN - This document includes a list of colleges/universities with no application fees, as well as colleges/universities who are waiving their application fee during a specific time frame.
- FAFSA - Application is OPEN! Colleges & trade schools will need this for seniors' financial aid packages.
- DACA STUDENTS / UNDOCUMENTED STUDENTS - This link includes an undocumented student's guide to college in Michigan.
- LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION - Seniors choose who to ask for recommendation letters. Students often select teachers, counselors, coaches, or club advisors. Whoever they choose, seniors should complete & send this LOR Profile Sheet to them.
- Always give the recommender at least two weeks' notice to allow them enough time to write a strong & effective letter.
- Always provide the recommender with the letter deadline & where they can send it to.
- JOSTENS - Graduation cap & gown ordering.
Other Opportunities and Resources:
- Military Academy Nomination application: The offices of Senator Gary Peters and Congresswoman Haley Stevens have a Military Academy Nomination application. In order to attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, students need a nomination from their Congressional offices. Additional Information
Informational Documents
Here you will find new informational documents from the district, building, and community.
Please see the following reminders and updates.
- Any student that is using the school parking lot during school hours must have a parking pass and be parked in their assigned spot. Auburn Hills PD will be issuing parking tickets to any vehicle that does not have a parking pass. Please see the front office before school or during lunch to purchase your tag by October 16th. Mr. Danta will begin towing any vehicle that does not have a parking pass after October 16th.
- No commercial outside food or beverages will be allowed into the building after 7:20am. Any commercial outside food or beverage will need to be thrown away at the door. This policy change is due to the large number of students that are coming in late (a lot of them with commercial food/drink).
- Remember in order to engage and experience your learning, all students must be to class on time every hour. Teachers will not be providing any hall passes the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes of class. Attendance and tardies are being tracked and consequences will be enforced.
