The Wonderful World of P.E.!
What's going on in Physical Education...
The PE Newsletter
I hope you all had a wonderful summer and had a smooth transition getting your children back to school this year.
I am Mrs. Weber - your child's P.E. teacher. I have gotten to meet many of you over the past few years, but those of you who do not know me yet, feel free to stop by and say, "HI" at the next Goodrich event.
This year I will be sending out a monthly newsletter telling you about what has been going on in P.E. the past month and what is coming up next. I may send out an extra newsletter here and there if there is something going on I want you all to have extra information on.
In this newsletter you will find information on:
- Team Building and Cooperative Games (what we've been doing so far)
- The days your child has P.E. (we can work together to make sure EVERYONE always has gym shoes!)
- A little about me so you know who is teaching your child/children
- What's next - upcoming units/lessons for P.E.
Team Building and Cooperative Games
Each class participated in 5 or 6 different Team Challenge Stations, where they had to either work with a partner or a small group in order to complete the challenge. Watching how they work together, communicate, and move is a very cool thing for me to witness as I get ALL the students in the school.

Who is Mrs. Weber?
My husband, AJ, and I have been married for 4 years. We have one daughter, Waverly, who is 19 months old. She is currently talking like crazy and running everywhere!
I love sports, even though I went to Northern Iowa, I am a HUGE Iowa Hawkeye fan! Any Saturday in the fall you can find me on my couch cheering on my Hawks. I also enjoy cooking, doing anything outside, and spending time with my family.
If you ever have any questions, the best way to get a hold of me is by e-mail.
This is going to be a great year and I am so happy to be teaching all your children!

What's next?
Starting next week we will try to be outside everyday (that isn't 100 degrees or raining) until the beginning of November.
This fall we have lots to do! We will have units working on soccer skills, football skills and of course our fall fitness testing (more information to come.)
Next week my older students will start a Frisbee Unit. My favorite thing about Frisbee is that it is a lifetime activity. There are a variety of games that can be played at all ages.
My younger students will be spending time with underhand tossing skills and locomotor patterns. We spend a great deal of time K-2 with locomotor patterns because they are the foundation of all movement and they greatly help with coordination.
We are off to a very exciting fall!
