TAF@Saghalie Update
GO WOLVES!
Principal's Message for October
It’s October families! I can’t believe we are in week 5 of our TAF@SGH virtual learning school! We have all been hard at work getting refocused into learning and getting onboarded with all of our various tech tools. I appreciate all of your patience with us as we continue to learn how to operate in our new normal. As we get feedback from you, we are refining our actions and support of our scholars.
I am super excited that I had an opportunity to engage with many of you at our open house event on 9/30. Thank you so much for attending and sharing your feedback with us. I am so grateful that you are our partner in moving your scholar forward in deep learning through STEM and PBL. In order to deepen our relationship, communication with each other, and your understanding of the culture of TAF@SGH throughout the year; I will meet with you 2x per month (principal/family zooms) and sending newsletters 2x per month that are filled with important information regarding how we move as a school. You will begin to get familiar with our school goals, our TAF transformation pillars, and we will spotlight the rich learning that is happening in our virtual classrooms and engaging opportunities that scholars will experience through our TAF enhancements.
In this newsletter, I would like to introduce you to our 2 school-wide goals that we will focus on this year and our TAF pillars. The goals and the pillars frame who we are and what we do! As we move through the rest of year, it is our goal to make our goals and pillars visible to families and scholars.
Thanks again for your partnership and your continued support!
Remember, it is and always is, a great day to be a wolf in the wolfpack!

TAF@Saghalie TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Joan Rohloff, 7th Grade Science
The real-world problem of "Where should we build a watershed?’
Teachers are bringing wetland knowledge to students with virtual field trips to allow them access and ability to observe and analyze the impacts of building in a wetland. An example in the Puget Sound watershed is the construction of the Boeing Airfield on the mouth of the Cedar River as it enters Lake Washington. (seen in photo)
