clinic news
Howdy Wildcat Families!
With May now upon us the clinic wanted to pass on important information!
- Please make sure your student is bringing a water bottle to school every day. The days are getting hotter, and we are seeing more overheated kids! Water is crucial to brain and body health during these hot months that seem to carry on forever!
- We have sent out letters to those that are needing vaccinations for 7th grade. ALL students require a TDAP and MCV4 vaccination before the start of 7th grade year. If you choose not to have your student vaccinated, a Conscientious Objector will need to be obtained. Please send the updated shot record to your nurse.
- ALL medication, clothes, and snacks stored in the clinic must be picked up no later than May 25th. Nothing can be stored in the clinic over the summer and will be thrown out, including medications! The clinic is open 8:15-4:15 to pick up medications and supplies.
Call the clinic for any questions at 832-592-8911. We hope everyone has a great rest of the school year and an even better summer!

Fact or Myth?
- Everyone feels sad, angry, lonely, or scared at times: FACT
It's healthy to feel emotions, even the not-so-fun ones. Uncomfortable feelings let us know that something is not okay. We can use that information to change what we are doing or to ask for help.
- Getting angry is never okay: MYTH
All our feelings are okay, all the time. It's what we do with our feelings that can become a problem. Ask for help from a school counselor or other trusted adult if you need it.
- Getting enough sleep, water, and healthy food are ways to take care of mental/brain health: FACT
Healthy brains work better. Kids should get 8-12 hours of sleep, drink enough water, and eat fruits and vegetables every day.
- Talking about my worries will only make them worse: MYTH
When we keep big worries a secret, they tend to build up. Talk with a trusted adult, school counselor, or a supportive friend.
