Normangee MS Family Newsletter

From Mr. Wingfield
We are halfway through the 2nd six weeks and this is a very important time for students to make sure they are turning in assignments. Teachers are here to help in any way they can, but students need to do their part. As a reminder, you can log in to the parent portal and check your student's grades. It is easy to do and will help you stay on top of any work that is not being turned in. You can also contact your student's teacher about getting signed up for the classroom Remind. This helps our teachers out a lot as well. Let us know if you need help logging in.
Congratulations to the HS girls' cross country team on winning the district championship today. Our HS volleyball team is still vying for the district championship as well. Football will be playing their second district game this week with four more to go. Please come out tomorrow and support our Lady Panther volleyball team at home against Hearne and the Football Team has their pink out game at home as well when they face off against West Hardin. Come out and support our athletes and our Panther Band.
Fences for construction have started going up around campus and students are already being re-routed. There will be more fencing and construction starting soon. We will keep you updated as we progress through this exciting construction process to improve our schools.
If there is any other information you would like to receive through the MS Newsletter, please feel free to email me at jwingfield@normangeeisd.org
As always, if I can help in any way please let me know.
Jared Wingfield

From the Bus Barn
Please remind your students about continuing to show proper behavior on the buses. We want the bus ride home to reflect the same level of respect we expect in the school building. Disruptive behavior can distract our bus drivers and we want to make sure everyone behaves appropriately and everyone gets home safely.
Thanks for your support
From Mrs. Martin
The Capturing Kids Heart focus for October will be Self-Directed Behavior
Self-Direction is the ability and learned skill to cast a vision of future goals and then take intentional steps toward who, where, and what we want to be. Instead of focusing on things to control or avoid, we emphasize our responsibility to make positive choices related to our emotions, attitudes, and actions.
We will be talking to students about positive choices and making sure our actions reflect those.
Our Student of the Month will also be someone who represents the quality of self-directed behavior and models it daily in class and on the campus.
