A Note from Mrs. Williams
I know everyone is excited to head into this 3-day weekend! It's been a great week here at Schluter, and I can't believe that next week will already be our first round of progress reports. Time flies when you're having fun!
I know everyone is staying current with our district communication regarding COVID health and safety protocols as well as procedures for potential closures. We truly hope that does not have to occur here at Schluter, but please review those procedures in case it does. In the event of a closure, we would communicate via phone and email. The phone call may be an automated call depending on the size of the closure, so please ensure your voicemails are able to receive messages in the case you are not able to answer at the time.
As a reminder, if your child is sick, please do not send them to school. We are committed to following all NISD health and safety protocols here at school, and we also need your help. Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with our NISD health and safety protocols, linked below, and promote healthy behaviors with your children. We will continue to do the same while students are here at school. While masks are not required, we strongly encourage the use of masks while students are inside of our school. I encourage all of us to do our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19. If your child tests positive for COVID, please report it using the link below or on the district website, and keep your child at home.
Please stay safe and well, and I hope you have a great 3-day weekend. We look forward to welcoming our students back on Tuesday, September 7th.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Williams
Updated Bus Route Information Available
As with the start of all school years in our fast-growth district, transportation was a challenge that will improve in the coming days. This year, more than 3,400 new bus riders joined already-completed bus routes in the few days since route information was emailed to families. With this challenge in mind, the district transportation department is in the process of adding these students and more to the existing routes and rerouting when needed. As with previous school years, this work will continue for the first week or two of school.
Route information will continue to be added to the district’s online route system, the MyView tracking app (available on the iOS App Store and Google Play), and in the Home Access Center. Thank you for your understanding as our transportation staff work diligently to meet the needs of all families.

A Message from Food Services
Free Meal Program Extended for Elementary, Middle Schools
All Northwest ISD students in elementary and middle school will continue receive free breakfast and lunch meals during the 2021-2022 school year! While students in high school will not take part in the same program, they can continue to apply for free or reduced-price meals.
Though meals are free to all elementary and middle school students, we strongly encourage families to continue to apply for the free and reduced-price meal program, as there are further benefits that can help reduce financial hardship. An accurate count of students in need also helps provide the appropriate programs at schools. Anyone who previously applied for the free or reduced-price meal program or believes they may now qualify based on their financial circumstances should still apply. This will also ensure these students receive free or reduced-cost meals for at least the first 30 days of the 2022-2023 school year.
