Welcome Back
I hope you had a restful and relaxing spring break and are ready for a strong finish to the school year when we return on Tuesday, remember there is no school tomorrow.
When we return we have one week left until the end of the third marking period. The third marking period ends on Monday, April 9th, which is also a half day. Please make sure you close out the third marking period on a positive note and you are working to set goals for a fantastic fourth marking period. This is the final stretch!!
Senior Banquet
College Fair field trip for Juniors: April 10, 2018
Blake Juniors are invited to attend the fair with their classmates on April 10 from 9:45 a.m. to noon. Students will be required to turn in a signed parental permission slip and register online and print out a barcode. Students will turn in the permission slip and barcode to the Counseling Office. The deadline to turn in the both forms is April 4, 2018.
Students are not allowed to drive separately. Juniors going on the trip should bring along a bag lunch. Parents, you are encouraged to visit the fair on the evening of April 10 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. The college admissions representatives will be available to answer your questions. There will be hundreds of schools represented at this fair. It has grown over the years to become one of the largest in the nation. Please take advantage of this field trip.
Blake Booster Mulch Sale
The Blake Athletic Booster Club is holding its annual Mulch Sale on Saturday, April 21st. Don’t let the current weather fool you – Spring (probably) is right around the corner! We sell two types of mulch (brown and black). If you live in the Northeast Consortium area, we also offer delivery for a small fee.

Class of 20 & 21 Community Yard Sale / Vendor Fair
Who- Our yard sale is open to all faculty/staff, parents/guardians, and community members to purchase yard sale or vendor spots
Where- James Hubert Blake High School Student Parking Lot (300 Norwood Rd, Silver Spring MD 20905)
When- Saturday, May 19th from 8am-1pm (Rain date: Saturday, June 2nd from 8am-1pm)
Details- Two parking spots may be reserved for $15 and three spots may be reserved for $20. Spots will be assigned as your registration form is accepted. For direct sales companies, only the first three from each company will be accepted. You are responsible for bringing your own tables to display items on, as well as chairs, racks, etc. that you may need for the day. You are welcome to start arriving at 7:30am to set up your display for our start time of 8am.
How to Register- Spots are first come, first serve! Reserve your spots today by filling out the form attached and returning it to either Jennifer Hiscock (B223) or Sara Willoughby (Media Center)

Choose Respect Conference on Healthy Teen Dating Set for April 15
Did you know that nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner each year?
Parents/guardians, teens, youth service providers, and educators will come together to discuss the problems around teen dating violence and talk about ways to establish healthy relationships at the annual Choose Respect conference set for April 15 at Richard Montgomery High School. There will be raffles, prizes, free food, and live entertainment.
