January 16 Community Newsletter
Hello Parents and Guardians,
Happy MLK Day. I would like to share one of my favorite Dr. King quotes that leads the work we do every day. " The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of true education." I hope you utilized today as a day of service.
The second marking period will be ending on January 26. Please encourage students to complete assignments and close out the marking period strong.
A photographer from the yearbook came to Woodbury on Friday to take pictures for all clubs and activities. Participants came down to the auditorium as a group and posed for pictures that will memorialize their involvement in these organizations.
The counseling department is finalizing preparations for their upcoming meetings with students about course selection for next year. Yes, you read that correctly. Course selection for the 2023-2024 school year will begin soon. Counselors will have meetings with students in each grade level explaining both the requirements and the options available. Look for more information in the coming weeks. We will have 8th grade parent night at the end of this month. Details will be coming soon.
We will have a meet in greet with Ms. Himmons this Wednesday, January 18 from 4 to 6 in the library. We look forward to seeing you.
Our second Saturday School of the year will be held, January 21 ( 8 am - 12 pm) for anyone needing to make up a day of attendance.
In Partnership,
Principal Taylor
SAT School Day For Juniors
