Principal Corner
This week was all about purple! It was fun to see the students participating in the dress up days, attending the athletic events wearing purple, and honoring loved ones and friends who have had cancer or Parkinson’s disease.
What was happening behind the scenes was what was most impressive! Holly McCaw guided the Purple Committee, which consisted of Otsego High School Students, to implement Purple Week. The process began at the end of last school year when students signed up to be a part of the Purple Committee. Students began meeting in July. From the start of the school year, the group of students met weekly (and sometimes more often than that) to plan activities. The group has grown as students and staff desire to be a part of something bigger than themselves and Otsego High School. Check out our awesome purple committee below!
The best part of this whole week is raising awareness and money for the Van Andel Institute to help with cancer and Parkinson’s disease research. Thank you to the students, staff, families, and community for coming together for this most worthy cause!
