CVUSD Receives National Recognition for Music Education
The Conejo Valley Unified School District has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. The CVUSD is one of just 975 school districts in the nation to earn the 2024 Best Community for Music Education distinction.
Now in its 25th year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement for providing music access and education to all students. The award program recognizes and celebrates outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.
Congratulations to our CVUSD team members and community partners who work tirelessly to bring exceptional music education experiences to all students. Special thanks to our Wildwood music instructors who deliver top-notch music instruction to our Tigers every week: Karine Szakos, Kevin Breeding, and Justin Thai. You're the best of the best!
Warmly,
Mr. Lynch

The City of Thousand Oaks has changed the parking signs on Avenida de Los Arboles from "No Parking" to "No Stopping Any Time". This means that drivers are NOT allowed to drop off on this street or park and wait in their vehicles for students to arrive after school. The city has asked us to inform you of this change while enforcement is currently underway.

2024-25 PTA Volunteer Opportunities
Are you looking for ways to be more involved next year? Our PTA would LOVE your help!!! While there are many ways to help, we know of three fundraisers that will need someone to facilitate: Original Works, Food Nights and School Cents. These are both great ways to get involved and don’t require a huge time commitment.
Original Works is an art program that allows parents to purchase their child’s artwork on costume keepsakes. Most of the work can be done from home with a couple stops at school to put things in teacher boxes etc. Teachers do the art in class and you are responsible for getting it organized and working with Original Works (OW) to get it shipped out. The program coordinator from Original Works is super helpful and around to answer any questions. Teachers typically do the art in January and February and we submit it to OW mid-February. Sarah Casey has facilitated this program for years and is ready to train someone new! If you are interested in learning more about please reach out to Sarah at sarahbsheppard@hotmail.com.
School Cents is a program that collaborates with The Oaks in order to generate funds to local K-12 schools. Schools families, staff and other community members submit receipts from The Oaks from Sept 1st- April 30th to earn points for their school. Based on the points earned, our school receives funds from the School Cents program. This is primarily a work from home position. There are 4 pre-scheduled meetings during the school year that takes place at The Oaks. Otherwise, the main goal is to send out communication via newsletter, social media, email blasts regarding submitting receipts and/or current promotions. It will be Jen Charoenrath’s last year at Wildwood and would love to pass it on. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact Jen at jent912@gmail.com.
Food Nights are a great way for the PTA to partner with restaurants and earn money for our school while also supporting local businesses. This is a wonderful opportunity for a work from home volunteer position, with minimal time on campus. Primarily the duties include coordinating with local restaurants to arrange food night fundraisers, creating flyers to be sent home, making copies at the school and distributing the flyers in teacher boxes so that they can go out in the Wednesday Envelopes. In addition, promoting these food nights through eblasts and social media will be key. Many restaurants will provide their own flyers, which will save time. If you think this is something you might be interested in and want to learn more information please reach out to Andrea Patrick, our current Food Nights Chair at apatrick1323@gmail.com
Calling all Marie Kondos!
Are you a wizard at repurposing and purging? Do you love a closet full of acrylic bins? Do you know how to work on a BUDGET? We are looking for Wildwood community members who are willing to channel their inner organizer to help us with a beautification project for our teachers.
