Family Handbook Reminders and More to Keep You Informed
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL ~ FRIDAY, JUNE 14 ~ 12 NOON DISMISSAL
Lost and Found
It is always helpful to label your child's clothing, especially outerwear. Lost and Found is located on a table down the main hallway near the playground door. Parents and children are encouraged to check the Lost and Found often.
The Lost and Found area is cleaned three times a year: over December break, April break, and at the end of the school year.
Any items that have not been claimed at these times are donated.
There are many items that accumulate in the Lost and Found throughout the school year, so please feel free to stop in and check out the lost and found during school hours.
Please Note: Smaller items found, such as jewelry and sunglasses, are kept in the Main Office on the windowsill (as you enter through the main doors of the building from the outside). If you are missing, for example, an earring or ring, this is the place to look!
Early Release Days
District-wide early release days are scheduled each Wednesday with dismissal at 2:00 PM. The Wednesday early release runs through the end of May. Portland teachers and staff use this time for professional development.

Family Handbook Reminders
The above reminder is taken from Ocean Avenue Elementary School's Family Handbook 2018-2019. We hope to provide you with weekly snippets from the handbook to inform you of the policies and procedures at Ocean Avenue Elementary School. Our goal is to improve on communicating information and procedures out to parents, and to ensure that parents know school protocols. We are happy to receive feedback from you on what you want to know and the best way to communicate it. If you have any ideas, please share with the Main Office.
