Important Reminders
- Welcome to the weekly newsletter! Please read this letter each week to learn about important updates in our classroom, school, and to find out what your child is learning about!
- Scholastic Book Orders are due online by September 15th. You can order online with Scholastic, and the code to help our class earn books is NDJXN. Orders are submitted monthly, online only -- I do not accept paper orders or checks, sorry. Thank you for helping our class earn free books!
- Monday is Proud to Be an American Day to remember the events of 9-11. Your child may wear red, white, and blue to school!
- Fundraiser orders are due by Tuesday, September 12th.
- Please make sure you are signing your child's spelling practice test homework. It goes home on the first day of the week and is always due on Fridays. I will also send home some extra activities once a quarter in the folder (these are completely optional and do not need to be returned to school at all). You will see a new homework assignment sheet in the back flap of your child's take-home folder on Monday. Thanks for your help!
Thanks,
Mrs. Reiber
Special Awards
Congratulations to Avery for earning the VIP chair this week in our Class Dojo behavior system!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday this week to Daron, Payton, and Ethan!
What we are learning in Room 12...
If your child is going to be absent, please let me know in advance if possible, so I can send make-up work with them.
- Math - Students are learning about counting equal groups in multiplication and division problems! You can help your child at home by reviewing "repeated addition" and skip-counting with them (we have math songs they can sing, too). There will be a brief math quiz on Friday but there is not going to be an official study sheet.
- Reading - Students are doing a great job with their Daily 5 stations. Thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Silbaugh for volunteering their time to help students during stations last week! If you have volunteered to sign up to help out during reading centers, I will be contacting you soon. We are also learning about characters and character traits.
- Writing/Spelling - This is our third week of spelling words, the pattern is "long i." The words will be in the back of the yellow take-home folder and the test will take place on Friday. Your child will have 5 "personal word list" words. In writing class, we are reviewing our knowledge of adjectives and how to write a complete sentence.
- Social Studies - We are continuing to learn about the local government in Tallmadge!
