🌼APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS🌸
KINDERS
Kindergarten is exploring line, color, design and space with 3D paper sculptures. Students designed their color paper sheets and then used their scissor skills to cut and assemble their 3D sculptures. Greeting spring, Kinders are working through shape and line to create these watercolor and tempera paint butterflies.
1ST AND 2ND
1st and 2nd grade focused on negative and positive space with their Notan Japanese artworks. They chose colors and shapes to personalize each square. Bu folding each paper in half, then cutting only on the folded side, students create unique shapes that float in the center of each square. Next students are woking with tempera paint and cut paper to create upcoming lily pads.
3RD AND 4TH
3rd and 4th grade is focused on negative and positive space with their Notan Japanese artworks. Each student chose their background color and designed shapes. Students then cut each shape out and then glue back down to mirror the shape, mirroring negative and positive space. Next students will be creating their model magic cupcakes.
5TH AND 6TH
5th and 6th is learning about clay techniques as we begin designing and building our slab clay boxes. Student boxes have been built and made the first trip through the kiln. Now students will glaze them, painting them and covering them with color. Pastel now, after they go through the kiln a second time, the colors will become shiny and vibrant.
