Tonight: Mass for Peace
Greetings Everyone,
Our 7:00 PM Mass tonight will be offered with the intention of finding a peaceful resolution to the threat of war in Ukraine. In a recent service, Pope Francis prayed "that all hurts, fears, and divisions will be overcome" peacefully, non-violently.
As Catholics, we believe that prayer can unite people to work for change by inspiring them to see an alternative way, a peaceful way, especially when all hope seems lost. Prayer connects people one heart at a time, healing hurts, calming fears, and uniting divisions. Prayer helps us individually and collectively see possibility, which leads to action and change.
The situation in Ukraine is about preventing unnecessary pain, suffering, and loss of life that would occur because government leaders fail to put people's wellbeing over political power and prestige. May our prayers unite our hearts to be in solidarity with those who are suffering and live in fear this day. May our prayers also remind us of our responsibility to take action and demand non-violent solutions for this and all conflicts.
Peace, ~ Jamie
