Homer Hickam
Homer Hickam
Homer is a kid with high hopes and a dream that hopefully inspires others. Homer is determined, confident, and motivated. Even though he is looked at like an outcast in his town he still continued to pursue his dream of becoming a rocket scientist. People called him "rocket boy" as an insult but turned to be his stage name. Even with insults and his father telling him that he "needs to cut it out with his rocket non sense" and not being supportive of him.
Rocket Science book
Homer Hickam would probably take the book of rocket science trajectories that his teacher gave him, because it means a lot to him. He even said "This is the best thing anyone has ever gave me", and used it on a daily basis and applied it to his rocket building.
science fair medal
I think he would bring this on vacation because it meant so much to him, and through all of his hardships he won it and has a lot of meaning to it. He even thought he wasn't going to win it, but yet he did.

I think he would bring this with him because in the beginning his dream was to be a rocket scientist, and after so many hardships and hard work and determination what was once a dream and at some points didn't seem possible he still became a rocket scientist.
