Odyssey Online Learning
Believe It. Plan It. Do it.
Hello Odyssey Students & Families,
Happy March to you all! I truly hope this new month brings you courage to try again, passion for doing what you love, and the resilience in overcoming any obstacle. Please be sure to look in detail at this month's newsletter so that you are informed of all of Odyssey Online Learning's school information.
🌟As a reminder, all 11th and 12th grade students at OOL are required to graduate with a Career Readiness Certificate which can be earned by taking the WIN Career Readiness Assessment. To ensure that OOL’s students achieve a Work Ready Certificate of a level 3 or higher, 11th and 12th-grade students and early graduates are required to attend weekly prep sessions. Students, you have been doing a great job of attending! Keep up the great work! 🌟
🗓In-person testing will take place on March 25th through March 28th, 2024 and April 9th through April 12th, 2024. Mrs. Kelly Studebaker (kelly.studebaker@odysseyonline.com) has shared testing locations with all students and parents via email and by mailing a letter to your physical address. Please reach out to her should you have any questions regarding your testing locations.
🔎Parents and students, please be sure you are following ALL expectations for coursework and live lesson attendance. As the handbook states, "Students must log in each school day and actively complete assignments in each class to be counted present and to avoid being referred to the Attendance/Truancy Officer. Once your student accrues 10 consecutive unexcused absences, he/she will be withdrawn from the school." These are essential components to ensure YOUR overall success!
🍎Last but not least, it is time for our School Climate Survey. Parents, you will be receiving a letter within the next week and we kindly request you to complete the survey. Students, you will be required to complete your survey via zoom with your Student Engagement Specialist March 11-15, 2024. 👏
🔔The end of the 3rd 9 Weeks is Monday, March 18th, 2024. Push hard and complete all of your work. No extensions will be given!
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I am only a call, email or text away.
Wishing you all the best,
Mrs. Owings

Haley Crider
Haley's favorite thing about Odyssey Online Learning is how the teachers are very helpful and take their time with me. When she's not completing her work, she enjoys going out with friends and having a good time with family.
"Haley's perseverance is the "model and goal" for all our OOL students. She has overcome so much during her high school years and is excelling in her last semester of high school. I am so proud of how far she has come, who she is, and who she is going to be in the future. Way to go, Haley!"
Congratulations, Haley! We are so proud of you!
Grant Harris
Grant's favorite thing about Odyssey Online Learning is that it's fast and has great teachers and staff. When he's not completing his schoolwork, he's racing dirt bikes, spending time with family and friends, hunting, or fishing.
"Grant has overcome adversity and has shown extreme academic progress in the last couple of weeks. I have seen a change in his motivation, and his grades are beginning to reflect that. He has proven that giving your best and working consistently, despite any roadblocks that come your way, you can do it! Way to go, Grant!"
Congratulations, Grant! We are so proud of you!
Shyanne Jenkins
Shyanne's favorite thing about Odyssey Online Learning is that the teachers are friendly, don’t hold their students back from working ahead, and they’re always helping me when needed. When she's not completing her schoolwork, she enjoys going on walks, sitting outside, or doing things with my family.
"Shyanne is new to Odyssey and has really shown her ambition in her first couple of weeks. She is responsive to her student engagement specialist, and she has already finished two of her courses! She will likely finish the others early as well. I am so proud of Shyanne and glad she chose Odyssey to finish her high school career!"
Congratulations, Shyanne! We are so proud of you!
Yoselin Samaniego
Yoselin's favorite thing about Odyssey Online Learning is that she can work at her own pace. When she's not doing schoolwork, she enjoys doing nails and going to the gym.
"Yoselin is such a joy to have at Odyssey. She is always thinking ahead about things she can do to be successful. She is organized and always has a positive attitude. She has been such an asset to her classes!"
Congratulations, Yoselin! We are so proud of you!

We will rotate between crafts and/or activities with your child and staff-facilitated discussions, providing opportunities for student parents to share experiences.
Meeting Times: The 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at 12 pm.
Purpose: Provide a community of support and a social outlet for Odyssey Online Learning student parents. We want to encourage, equip, and support our student moms and dads with support and fun.
Goals: Our goal is to offer various activities for moms, dads, children, and their families. In addition, create an environment that fosters positive discussion so our parents can share their experiences, struggles, and successes.
Guidelines:
1) The club will comply with current South Carolina applicable laws and regulations, the Charter Institute at Erskine District, and school policies and regulations.
2) A student can participate only if they provide written permission from either a parent or legal custody or other legal guardian(s).
3) Students must sign a form that they will always be respectful and courteous to all members and that we are not allowed to give out medical advice because we are not doctors.
