Schedule Parent Teacher Conferences
If you still need to schedule your conference(s), please check your email inbox as it will contain an email detailing how to schedule your student's conference. You may also call our office at 785.438.4340. You should receive a confirmation email once you schedule your student's conference.
Attending conferences is one of the best ways parents, guardians, and teachers can partner to support our students' learning. These fall conferences will provide insight into your student’s strengths, areas in which they may need to improve, and ways you can support them with their learning at home.
In order to help conferences run smoothly, we ask that you arrive on time and stay only for the scheduled time of the appointment as our teachers have several back-to-back conferences. If you are running late, your child's teacher may ask you to wait until their next available conference slot or ask that you reschedule your conference in order to ensure they have enough time to meet with you.
We also recommend you view your student's 1st quarter report card prior to the conference and write down any questions you may have. Report cards will not be printed; instead, you may view them by following the directions listed below.
We look forward to seeing our McClure families in a few days!
Click HERE to sign up for your student's parent teacher conference on Oct. 25th (4-8pm) or Oct. 26th (8am-8pm)

PTO Read-a-Thon: Activate Your Student's Account
It's time for the MCCLURE ELEMENTARY PTO Read-a-thon!
This year, our PTO will once again be holding a Read-a-thon fundraiser. Our Read-a-thon is a program that brings students together with family and friends to encourage reading and to build literacy skills. The main focus of the Read-a-thon is for everyone to know we are committed to improving reading skills. To that end, the Read-a-thon promises to be a fun, exciting journey for all participants as they begin a personal Reading Adventure that challenges each reader to read 20 minutes a day (can include minutes read in class and at home) over our 2-week event. Our Read-a-thon will officially start October 12, 2023 and ends October 26, 2023.
Step 1: Register Your Student: This account will serve as a hub for recording and monitoring your child's progress as a Reader in the event, and for you to share their Read-A-Thon message with friends and family. Use the link below to activate your student's Reader account:
https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/tdgujK/1Thank you so much for your participation and support. Together, we can make this Read-A-Thon an amazing experience for our young readers! Thank you,

Season of Sharing
From Thanksgiving to Christmas Day, Seasons of Sharing will spread love, support and holiday cheer throughout the Topeka and Shawnee County community!
The group's focus is to help with unique or specialized wishes which will have a big impact on the quality of life of the recipient. They seek to help meet the needs of the recipient that are currently not being met and are typically not granted by other giving programs. This can include essential items such as medical equipment not covered by insurance, assistive devices or other items to meet educational needs for students, and home modification for safety and accessibility reasons.
Anyone can apply, or you can nominate someone you know on this website. Once chosen, recipients will be notified and arrangements for gift delivery will be made.

Good to Know Info
Arrival & Dismissal
Dear McClure Families,
As we continuously strive to provide a safe and secure environment for our students, we would like to emphasize important safety measures that require your assistance. First, we request that you help us in ensuring the safety of all students during morning drop-off by having them stay in their cars until our staff are on duty and ready to receive them (8:20am M-Th & 9:10am Fri). If you walk your student to school, we request you remain with your student until these times as well. If students want to get out of their parked car, they may only do so if accompanied by an adult. Students who walk to school on their own will need to plan their walk to school so that they arrive after these times. Students who are unaccompanied by parents or guardians prior to these times will be requested by school staff to return to their vehicles to wait.
We also request your assistance in following arrival and dismissal procedures and city of Topeka signage as our procedures have been designed with your child's safety in mind. Specifically, we request all cars use the designated car lane for arrival and dismissal or park in the appropriate parking zones as designated by city signage. Cars cannot park where the cones are lined on Chelsea Dr. as this is the bus loading zone. Likewise, students cannot be dropped off in the middle of the road.
We understand that mornings can be busy, but your cooperation in following these procedures will significantly contribute to the overall safety of our school community. We appreciate your partnership in keeping our school safe, and we are confident that, together, we can provide the best possible environment for our students. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Artzer, Principal
Dr. Berry, Assistant Principal
