First and foremost, thank you for an excellent first full week of school! Your dedication to making our theme of the school year is evident! Even with the number of students we have enrolled, you have remained professionals and continue to make our school safe and creating possibilities.
Let's continue our success this week:
- BINDER CHECK MONDAY DURING HOMEROOM AND PARCC SCORE HOME REPORT. PLEASE REVIEW WITH YOUR SCHOLARS.
- If you did not complete the Safe Schools modules, you must do by Monday @5pm.
- This week is for completion of SLO Pre-tests, iReady Diagnosis and MAPr. We will schedule data, scoring, and planning meetings.
- Student No Shows will be withdrawn by Friday. If there are students that have no been at school since the first day but you have been notified by the family, please let your Grade Level Counselor and/or Ms. Ashton, Ms. Smith or Ms. Simms know immediately.
- Emergency Plans were due Friday, please complete immediately.
- Content Chairs and Leaders, please review the Collaborative Planning Rubric with your teams if you have not already done so. We will follow the planning cycle and the Data Wise process in collaborative in every grade and content.
- Goal Setting conferences continue. Please sign up as soon as possible. Goals must be completed by Friday in MyPPS using the FFT components. New Teachers to PGCPS, please see the directions in MyPPS, each of you have the same goals that you must enter into your goal sheet located in MyPPS.
- Focus will be placed on our School Improvement Plan which includes our Literacy/Numeracy Plan.
- Admin and Leadership will conduct Learning Walks this week looking at your Classroom Environment for Learning. Looking at routines, expectations and how students are responding to your creation of a risk free environment.
- FALL SCHOOL FUNDRAISER BEGINS THIS WEEK - Please inform your family and friends and ask them to go online and purchase. This is an important fund raiser for the school. Encourage all students to participate.
- Scholastic Book Fair in Lower Campus - September 21 - 27th
- Each week Ms. Stine will hold Tech Tuesday in Room 725. This week's topic is Google Classroom. Next week she will cover Windows 10 and its changes. This is a weekly opportunity to get your questions answered. Remember the better you become at using our technology resources the more engaged students.
- Paper will given back to teachers for copying SLO pretests and other systemic requirements.
Grades K - 2
- K-2 Teachers should schedule their DRA and KRA days. K will have 1.4 days for KRA. There will be two DRA Days for each teacher. Secure your subs as soon as possible.
Grades 6 - 8
- Grades 6-8 Back to School Night is Tuesday @6:30, the schedule will distributed tomorrow.
- Grades 6-8 Math teachers are delivering the Literacy Task this week. The purpose is to make this a formative task for students to understand error analysis and reasoning by writing. This is the area which we scored poorly on the 2017 PARCC. Let's also look at how this task will change your practice.
