Brown School Buzz
December 5, 2023
Dear Families,
Dear Families,
April 1st. I think I need a little time just to let that sink in a bit. As we begin our third trimester, there is so much to reflect upon from the educator's perspective. While our teachers are constantly reviewing our curricula and planning out each week carefully, they are all acutely aware of the final 2 1/2 months of reviewing their goals they have set for each child's success this year. While spring has sprung, we have much more learning to experience to reach those goals.
Here's just some of what's on the learning docket for the next 2 1/2 months for our Brown School kids:
PK: Letters and sounds, Bugs/Insects, Gardening, Space, Dinosaurs, Lots of Counting!
Kindergarten: Solid shapes, Geometry, Plants and Animals
Grade 1: Plants and Animals, Measurement, Geometry
Grade 2: addition and subtraction in the 1000s, Insects and Plants, Civil Rights
Grade 3: MCAS, Measurement, Geometry, Massachusetts History
Our curricula is typically based on a full school year of instruction, and the last days are as important as the first. That said, I want to acknowledge how much more challenging that can be when spring arrives, the days are longer, and after school activities are in full swing. I thank you all for supporting our instructional efforts and for continuing to keep your children engaged in their learning every day.
What a Night!
Our 2nd Annual Brown School STEAM Fair was a tremendous success! Congratulations to all of our participating students and many thanks to our PTO and our staff volunteers for all their work to coordinate such a great event!
