Summer 2022
Welcome to Summer 2022!
Our sessions this summer are a mix of virtual and in-person. There is something for everyone!
If you are a TEAMS contract teacher, we have some sessions that may count as one of your five days (non-ALSDE approved). Be sure to check with your LEA to see if your five days have to be content-specific, or if they can be Best Practices. I am not sure how your contracts read as every LEA is different.
If you have specific questions concerning any of these sessions, please reach out to Patty Maze (patricia.maze@athens.edu) or Leigh Ann Todd (leighann.todd@athens.edu).
Have a great rest of the school year and an even better summer.

Description: Project-Based Learning is an instructional approach that addresses the needs of the 21st-century classroom as well as a standards-based curriculum to prepare students for college and careers using real-world scenarios, authentic documents, and situations.
PBLs are unique in that they are not a project tacked on the end of a unit of study if there is time or something assigned to the student who finishes early. PBLs are the vehicle for the delivery of content knowledge at a greater depth of understanding. In the end, students create a product, model, or solution that is unique to their own creativity and is very different from other groups.
