MS Accelerated Math Program
Updates to the acceleration program for Math 6 students
No Benchmark
This year students can use the benchmark test as practice on their own time. They can do it on paper or on computer. This gives them instant feedback on their performance.
Google Forms
The district eliminated CiMS, which was the program we have been using for testing. This year we will be giving the test through Google.
ALEKS Contest
Students can work in a special Math 7 ALEKS account to prepare for the test. Ten students will receive gift bags filled with school supplies.
How Were Students Identified?
Students had to meet at least one of the requirements below:
1. A score of 230 or higher on this year's MAP assessment.
2. MAP score of 224-229 and all 3s and 4s on last year's report card.
3. Student is gifted-talented in math or superior cog.
4. Student earned a 4 or 5 of last year's AIR test.
5. Student is in grade 5 taking Math 6.
6. Recommendation by teacher.
