Over 100 5th Graders Earn D.A.R.E. Certificates of Completion
Bunnell Police Chief David Brannon, Officer Shane Groth, and City Manager Dr. Alvin B. Jackson Jr. were on hand last Friday to celebrate our Bullpups who completed the D.A.R.E. program. D.A.R.E. is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teach students how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives. A big thank you to both the Bunnell & Ormond Beach Police Departments for guiding our 5th-grade Bullpups through this year's program.
Candygram & Donut Fundraisers
4th Grade & 5th Grade are kicking February off with class fundraisers.
4th Grade is holding a Valentine's Day Candygram sale. For just $1, a student can send that special someone a surprise gift on Valentine's Day. The last day to order is Monday the 13th. Students can see their teacher for an order form or stop by the stage in the big cafeteria during breakfast.
5th Grade is selling Krispy Kreme Donuts now through Tuesday the 14th. Donuts are $10 a dozen and will be delivered fresh to BES on Thursday, the 16th.

Great job to one of our more challenging 3rd-grade students who owned his behavior and turned it around to end the day on a good note - giving Coach Cathie the biggest bear hug ever.
Good things to all the REACH lab and garden crew who gave their hard work, dedication, and pride, and showed teamwork to turn around the garden and greenhouse areas in such a short time!
Thank you to Courtney Sanchez, our new counselor, for stepping up and showing our Bullpups you are here for them.
Mrs. Broderick rocks in the way she communicates with students and makes them feel valued. āIām never giving up on you! You are stuck with me!ā
Ms. Stover steps up to help anyone and everyone without being asked.

Yearbook Pre-Sales are Now Open
Student dismissal is a very busy time in the front office. To ensure a smooth transition furin dismissal each day, we ask:
- Notify the office in writing if there is any change in how your child will get home from school.
- Notify the school when you need to check your child out early for a doctor's appointment or emergency. ALL changes to travel method home must be PRIOR 1:30 PM. We need ample time to notify teachers and staff.
- A valid ID is always required to check your child out of school.
To ensure the safety of our students - the office will be closed for pick up between 2:45 and 3:15 pm, except in the case of emergencies or doctor's appointments.
Be advised that leaving campus early can negatively impact a student's academic success.
Three unexcused tardies or three unexcused early dismissals count as an unexcused absence for attendance monitoring. In order for any tardy or early dismissal to be excused, a note from the doctor or dentist must be brought to the school.
Schools are required by state statute to monitor attendance and report students who have excessive unexcused absences.
