School District of New Richmond - March 29, 2024
Letter From The Superintendent
Dear SDNR Community,
On behalf of the School District of New Richmond, I would like to take this time to applaud our students' hard work throughout the winter season. I hope that everyone had a safe and enjoyable Spring Break. We look forward to seeing our students back in the classroom on April 2, 2024.
The facilities referendum vote is on April 2, 2024. Voters in our community will decide on a facilities referendum ballot question to update and improve school facilities for today’s students, staff, families, and community as well as the next generation of learners. To learn about the facilities referendum please visit our District Website.
Sincerely,
Troy Miller
Superintendent
Important Voting Information
The spring election on Tuesday, April 2, features two important ballot questions directly related to SDNR: the School Board election and the $113.7 million "General Obligation Bonds Referendum,” more commonly known as the school facilities referendum. This referendum is asking for a tax increase of $9.38 per month on a home valued at $250,000.
If approved, the referendum will fund improvements at Starr Elementary, Paperjack Elementary, and New Richmond Middle School. The work would include:
Address building capacity for a growing enrollment.
Create appropriate learning environments to adequately meet the needs of our students and staff.
Invest in the continued maintenance of our facilities.
Additionally, the referendum includes district-wide safety and security improvements, upgrades to building infrastructure/programming, and investments in furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Vote on April 2 between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. For questions regarding your polling location, contact your City/Town Clerk or visit My Vote Wisconsin.
We encourage all SDNR residents to get informed about the upcoming facilities referendum by visiting our referendum webpage and make a plan to vote on Tuesday, April 2.

Student Learning Update
Student Update: NRHS
On February 22, State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly visited NRHS. Dr. Underly toured the building, visited many classes, and met multiple students. Some of the classes visited included the Building Construction class, the Senior Survivor class, and the SOAR Farm. A few students were also selected to speak on a panel about their experiences and future goals out of high school. This was a memorable experience for all and we appreciate having Dr. Underly visit our District!
