A Note from the Principal
I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your support over the last 14 years. It has truly been an honor and privilege to serve as the elementary school Principal. I appreciate the relationships built with parents, students, and especially the staff. I will carry with me so many wonderful memories and feel they have all influenced and helped prepare me for my next chapter. Starting July 1, I will be taking on a new role in the corporation to begin the transition to Superintendent. I will definitely miss my day to day interactions with students but look forward to serving the school and community in this new position. God Bless!
Parent/Guardian Email Address Change Coming in Harmony!
Our software company, Harmony, is making a change next school year to the location of the parent/guardian email addresses. Every parent/guardian will need to login to Harmony's ParentAccess and input their email address(es) under each parent/guardian name in order to receive important email communication from us. In the past, there has been one location for all email addresses, but now there will be a space under each individual name. The old email location will be deleted and unless new information is entered in the correct location, you will not receive important information from the school. You may login to Harmony at any time and add this information. Please contact the school at 765-492-7010 if you have any questions.

All Day Preschool!
We are proud to announce that for the 2024-2025 school year our pre-k program is expanding!
Where we currently offer a day care, we will be evolving to an all-day preschool for ages 2 – 4.
We will have 2 classes at 15 students in each class. Congratulations to Heather Medina who will
be the new preschool coordinator and is an experienced certified teacher with an early childhood
development and primary generalist degree. Mrs. Medina is also trained in dyslexia and the
Science of Reading. Students currently enrolled have or may reserve their spot and those on the
waiting list have been contacted to reserve a spot if they still wish for next school year. The cost
is $75 a week and hours are 7:30 – 4:00. Below is an application form to be filled out and
turned in to the school office. But hurry. Classes will fill up quickly! Any questions, please contact
the school.
NVES Preschool Application 2024-2025
Notice of Proposed Waiver of Title I Funds
This notice serves to inform parents, educators, and all other interested stakeholders of the proposed application for an Ed-Flex Waiver by the North Vermillion Community School Corporation. Ed-Flex is a program through the U.S. Department of Education that allows state education agencies (SEAs) the authority to waive statutory or regulatory education requirements that may impede local efforts to reform and improve educational achievement.
IDOE currently has four waivers available to all Indiana local education agencies (LEAs).
Waiver 1: Increased Title I carryover allowability from 15% to 25%
Waiver 2: Increased flexibility in paraprofessional requirements
Waiver 3: Applicable only to the Indiana Department of Corrections
Waiver 4: Increased flexibility in Title IV spending requirements for LEAs that receive more than $30,000
NVCSC will be applying for Waiver 1: Increased Title I carryover allowability from 15% to 25%. This waiver will allow us to use the maximum amount of funds approved for our corporation as they were not previously expended. This waiver will allow NVCSC to service more students with targeted interventions by staff. This will allow our schools to work towards our reading and math goals that have been set as a corporation and at the building level.
If any member of the public has any questions regarding this waiver or would like to provide comments or feedback on this waiver application, please contact Title I Coordinator, Heather Medina at hmedina@nvc.k12.in.us by May 10, 2024. If any member of the public is interested in the feedback that is received, please also designate that request via email.
