CHS FFA Achievements
Chandler FFA had a successful livestock show season and is gearing up for the Maricopa County Fair in April.
At the Santan 4H show CHS FFA students won buckles and prizes for their outstanding work ethic.
- Michelle Chavez won Grand Champion Novice Showman with her Lamb Pancho. She also won Grand Champion Intermediate Showman and won her first belt buckle. Pancho placed 3rd overall and Michelle placed 5th in Poultry Showmanship.
- Angel Sanchez placed 3rd in Rabbit Showmanship and 4th in Poultry Showmanship.
- Jalia Reed won Reserve Champion Senior Showman with her pig Champagne.
- Sherilyn Valadares won Champion Novice Showman with her goat Cheesecake.
- Noelia Espinosa placed 3rd in Senior Showman with her goat Tater Tot.
- Annabelle Williams won Senior Champion Showman and Grand Champion Market Beef with Vader.
At the Sweetheart Showdown our FFA students were very successful in the show ring.
- Laura Flood placed 2nd in breeding with her goat Starfish.
- Jalia Reed made it to the Final Drive of Showmanship and placed 2nd in market with her pig Champagne.
At the Western Bonanza Show at Cal Poly, Annabelle Williams placed first in the market class in both rings and made it to the final drive of showmanship in both rings.
Chandler High School FFA brought home two State Championship titles this weekend. At the State FFA Spring Conference where 1700 students competed.
Sadie Larson, Ben Higgins, Lucas Valdez won the State FFA Agriculture Business Managment Career Development Event Championship. They created a 75-page business plan and presented to judges. Team members also took 2 college level tests on farm business management principals and scenarios. Ben Higgins was the 2nd place high individual. Lucas Valdez placed as the 3rd high individual and Annabelle Williams placed 5th individually.
Annabelle Williams, Lucas Valdez, Silvia Hernandez, and Katie Tolman won the State FFA Floriculture Career Development Event Championship. Students created a floral arrangement and corsage along with tests on plant identification, diseases, insects, problem solving, and hazardous situations. Lucus Valdez was the 1st place high individual. Annabelle Williams placed as the 4th high individual and Silvia Hernandez placed as 5th individually.

Presidential Honors Scholarship (Must have a Maricopa student account to apply):
Presidential Scholarship:
High-achieving, recent high school students have the opportunity for a deeply enriching college experience in the CGCC Honors Program.
The scholarship pays for full-time tuition for up to 15 credit hours (plus the $15 registration fee) per semester for up to four consecutive semesters.

Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for the Presidents’ Honors Scholarship, you must:
- Graduate from a high school in Maricopa County
- Have a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher
- Start at CGCC within 3 academic semesters (not including summers) of high school graduation without attending another college in between (not including concurrent enrollment, dual enrollment, and summer session)
- Reside in Maricopa County while on scholarship
You will need a Maricopa MEID log in and a copy of your unofficial transcript to be able to upload with the scholarship application.

- Navigate to your student's infinite campus> Log in> Documents> Unofficial Transcript> Download the document> Have it available to upload to the form when prompted.

Need a way to do cardio, but you don't want to be sweaty all day? Do you want to learn different swimming techniques? Join Beginning Swim! You can learn how to do freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke, all while you build up your endurance. You can earn .5 of your required P.E. credit with just one semester of this class.
