Superintendent's Update
As we enter the final grading period of the 2023-2024 school year, it's time for reflection, celebration, and looking ahead toward important upcoming academic events. The Standards of Learning (SOL) tests for student assessment will be taking place over the next 4-6 weeks. Please take the time to talk with and support your students during what could be stressful times. It is important that they are well rested and prepared to put their best foot forward. Keep in touch with your student's teachers for test schedules and how to help your student prepare. BCPS will also be holding Graduation Ceremonies on May 25, 2024 for the Senior Class of 2024. More information about this exciting event is included below in this newsletter.
I would like to again thank our students, parents, teachers, and community for your unwavering support of Bedford County Public Schools. I hope you will have time to rest and rejuvenate over the upcoming Spring Break and return ready to finish this year strong!

BCPS Superintendent Search 2024
The search for the school division’s next Superintendent will soon be entering a new phase. The Public Input Survey closed on March 19, 2024, and town hall meetings have been conducted by the School Board in each of the three attendance zones in order to gain additional input from community groups and parents. The next phase includes the School Board finalizing the leadership profile prior to the recruitment and submissions of applications that will begin in April. The School Board will then interview selected candidates with an anticipated selection and announcement in late May to early June.
Should you have any questions regarding the process, please reach out to your School Board representative. More information regarding the process can be found here on the website.
