CHEETAH BYTES NEWSLETTER
Volume 19, January 8, 2021
PRINCIPAL'S CORNER:
Happy New Year and welcome back to school! I hope that you all had a relaxing and enjoyable winter break. We are excited to be back with our Cheetahs and we look forward to continuing on our learning journey together!
The office staff and I would like to thank you and your children for all the wonderful gifts and goodies you shared with us before the holidays. We truly appreciate your kindness and generosity.
New Staff:
I would like to give a warm Natoma Station welcome to Savannah Southern. She will be joining our amazing 3rd grade team. Savannah has previously taught in Stockton, and most recently she worked for Power School in Folsom. She is excited to be back in the classroom.
In addition, I would like to give a warm welcome to Jessica Hom, our new library clerk. Jessica's love of books and her expertise will ensure that our staff and students continue to be excited about reading! Please see our newly updated main library page on our school website: http://www.fcusd.org/Page/28715 and stay tuned for more information about how your child can check out books.
Although Amanda Turkbergen has been serving as our school nurse for the last couple of months, I want to officially welcome her to our Natoma Station team. Amanda brings years of experience and a passion for keeping our entire school community healthy and well.
Return to In-Person Hybrid:
For those students who will return to campus for in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 12th, to ensure the safety of all students and staff, we request that you screen your child every day using the Frontline app.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions.
Thank you for your support and partnership!

Dear NSE Families,
I hope you had a safe and fun holiday break. We look forward to seeing your healthy children back on campus. Click Here to view the FCUSD decision tree and Here for the FCUSD Illness Letter. It is highly recommended that parents fill out the Frontline screening questions daily prior to sending their children to school. We, Health Programs staff, appreciate your participation with the Frontline screening process. Please remember to send your child with a water bottle, a mask, and their school supplies. If you have any questions regarding contact tracing, or if you are unsure if your child can return to school, please email the school nurse at aturkbergen@fcusd.org
Hearing and Vision Screening:
· Kindergarten: in-person classes were screened on 12/9/2020. Check your email for your child’s results
· 2nd/5th grade: in-person classes will be screened on 1/19/2020 and 1/20/2020
· Distance learning appts for after winter break: Please email the school nurse for an appointment (aturkbergen@fcusd.org)
Please continue to notify the school if your student or anyone in the household develops COVID-19 symptoms, or has a positive diagnosis.
