What is the Hour of Code?
~Code.org's Hour of Code takes place every year during Computer Science Education Week, which this year is December 7-13th.
~Students of all ages can choose from a variety of self-guided tutorials, for Kindergarten an up. Tutorials work on any modern browser, tablet, smartphone, or even with no computer at all.
~Requires MINIMUM prep from Teachers.
~All tutorials are self-guided for students.

Why should you participate??
Every student should have the opportunity to learn computer science. It helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity. By starting early, students will have a foundation for success in any 21st-century career path. See more stats on code.org. Computer Science jobs go unfilled all the time! The need is real and the earlier we fill kids with interest the better!
NEW this YEAR!!
This year, one of the Hour of Code tutorials is STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS themed. A tablet compatible, drag and drop version will be available for elementary students. How exciting and topical for students!
This tutorial is added to an already amazing set of engaging tutorials available!
