TELPAS Reading Test Administration March 6th-10th
Next week all of our English Language Learners (ELLs) in grades 2-12 will participate in the TELPAS Reading Test. This standardized multiple choice test will be administered online.
The Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) fulfills federal requirements for assessing the English Language proficiency of English language learners (ELLs) in kindergarten through grade 12 in four language domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. TELPAS assesses students in alignment with the Texas English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS), which are part of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Student performance is reported in terms of four English language proficiency levels: beginning, intermediate, advanced, and advanced high. TELPAS results are used to meet state and federal reporting and accountability requirements.

Diversity Acceptance Week- February 27-March 3, 2017
HSB will hold a Diversity Acceptance Week starting on Monday, February 27 through Friday, March 3rd. The purpose of this week is to promote a sense of acceptance and awareness of the many ethnicities, nationalities, and races present at our campus. Student Council has decided to do this event in response to the recent increase of hate crimes against minorities. It is important that our students know that their differences are to be celebrated rather than hidden. All students and teachers are encouraged to participate. Remember, it is not just about dressing up but it is about showing support for each other.
Sincerely,
STUCO
