Principal's Message
Hello Wildcat Pride,
I want to thank all of the students who gave their best efforts over the last few weeks during testing, we know how difficult it is to stay focused for that long. Your efforts really do help us make Mesquite a better school.
We are really into the final push now, less than a month left before we head to summer vacation. Lets all check on our grades, touch base with teachers and get any incomplete or missing work turned in. If we can finish this year strong, then starting next year will be an even better experience.
I want to remind everyone that Gilbert Public Schools is still requiring masks up until and through graduation. I know it is not everyone's favorite thing, but as of now it is what the CDC and state are saying is the safest. If you are paying attention to the school dashboard you will also see that while we had a strong stretch of no new cases before spring break, we have had a couple of reported cases upon return. Anyone who is not wearing a mask will be asked to put one on, if they do not have one we will offer them one. If they still refuse to wear a mask, they will need to leave campus until they are prepared to follow the policy. No one wants to pick this fight from the school's perspective, so please let's all work together to help our teachers and students finish this year healthy and smart.
Yours in partnership,
Rod Huston

Scholarship Highlight of the Week - #GilbertTogether Scholarship
The Town of Gilbert has partnered with the Maricopa Community College District to provide job training scholarships for Gilbert residents (students, parents, community members) who have been impacted by COVID-19 in any manner (reduced hours, limited job opportunities, loss of wages, illness, etc.).
The training scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis and are not based on income. Plans are to offer #GilbertTogether resident career training scholarships through December 2021, or until funds are exhausted. The programs of study offered provide entry-level and upskilling opportunities for approximately eligible participants to prepare for careers in business, healthcare, information technology, manufacturing, and trades. The career areas offered are in high demand, with the potential to earn more than the median Maricopa County wage.
Interested individuals can attend a virtual information session on May 6th from 6:00PM – 7:00PM. Additional information can also be found at https://www.mesacc.edu/workforce-development/gilberttogether.
