Notes from the Principal
Greetings ALCS Family,
I pray all is well! Our Ascension family is growing! We have added another member, Mrs. Mary Carter, is our reading interventionist! She joins Mrs. Schuh, our math interventionist. Ascension's scholars are so blessed to have 2 interventionists who are licensed teachers and dedicated to their spiritual and academic growth. Both Mrs. Carter and Mrs. Schuh will provide services for our remote and in-person scholars.
This month all scholars will participate in the Diagnostic Writing Assessment (DRA). This assessment will be administered 3 times throughout the school year. Scholars will write an informative, narrative, and persuasive/argumentative pieces. I'm looking forward to seeing our scholars' progress.
As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher or the office.
Peace & Blessings,
Mrs. Reeves
ALCS Head of School

Happy Grandparents Day!
Grandparents are EXTRAordinary! Here's a poem from quotesgram.com:
You're a treasure in our family,
A gift of greatest price...
There's no one quite as special,
and no one quite as nice.
Below is a picture of our 2nd and 3rd grade scholars sending Happy Grandparents Day wishes to all grandparents!
Hispanic Heritage Month
September 15-October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month. During this time, we will highlight the contributions of influential Hispanic Americans.
Hispanic Heritage Month starts in the middle of the month to correspond with the independence of many countries like Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Chile.
Hispanic and Latino Americans account for an estimated 17.8% of the total U.S. population, making up the largest ethnic minority!
