RECOGNITIONS & CELEBRATIONS
ETMS Kiwanis Artist of the Year Honored by Lee's Summit Kiwanis
Please congratulate Tinsley Groom for being chosen as the ETMS Kiwanis Artist of the Year. Tinsley, her family along with Ms. Garwood attended the Kiwanis banquet on April 9th. Tinsley was recognized and awarded for her outstanding artistic endeavors. One student from each LSR7 secondary school was chosen and celebrated by the Kiwanis Club.
Congratulations, Tinsley!
6th Grade Science
6th Grade students dissected owl pellets to find the bone remains of what the owl ate. Items found were skulls, ribs, even teeth!
Cupcake Wars!
8th grade FACS students participated in Disney themed Cupcake Wars. All displays and cupcakes were amazing and fun to look at! Students and staff got to vote on the winners pictured. Congratulations!
Solar Eclipse Observation
Students and Staff took part in the observation of the Solar Eclipse on April 8th.
7th Grade Art
Seventh grade art students worked on a large collaborative project which just happens to fall into play with our Character Trait of the Month, Collaboration.
Animal Club
What an exciting day in animal club! The Kansas City Zoomobile came and brought Madagascar hissing cockroaches, sugar gliders and a super cool Indian Sun tortoise. We're a small but mighty club. Every "expert" who's come, has been very impressed (and maybe intimidated) by the vast knowledge of our students:
Yearbook Club
Yearbook Club enjoyed a field trip and tour experience at the Varsity Yearbook Plant on April 10th. They learned about the different steps our yearbook goes through, and loved seeing our first yearbook from last year, on the library shelves!
Gifted Field Trip
7th grade Gifted Students enjoyed a day at the Nelson Atkins Museum looking at ancient
Chinese and Egyptian artifacts.
