Archdiocesan Science Fair
On March 3, St. Louis School 8th grader Spencer Mack participated in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Science Fair. His project, called "What drinks eat your teeth", required extensive research, including experiments on real teeth. Schools from the Archdiocese compete in this science fair competition by sending the students that win their school competition. Spencer won at St. Louis and then took first place overall at the Indianapolis competition. Congratulations Spencer!
St. Louis Cardinal Crawl
Cardinal Crawl contest is going on now until Friday, March 9. Each day, the homeroom that has the most Cardinal Crawl registrations turned in, will receive an out-of-uniform pass. At the end of the week, the homeroom that has the most registrations for the week will win a pizza party.
The Cardinal Crawl is a 5K run-walk-crawl fundraiser that helps support SLS Athletics. The money raised helps the school maintain the Activity Center floor, helps buy uniforms and equipment, pays referees, provides transportation for the 7th and 8th grade away games and much more. Thank you for your support!

Musical Notes
Any student in grades 6-8 interested in applying for the RAA Young Artist Showcase for Dance should see Miss Kushman for an application form. Forms must be received by the coordinator by March 20th.
1st Grade Composers
The first grade classes composed songs last week! We borrowed our melody and used Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. We then brainstormed what we wanted our songs to be about before writing our first verse of lyrics together. Each student then had to write or draw what they thought came next! We found out that even just writing lyrics can be a tricky process, and we have a greater respect for people who write songs every day.

SLS Enrichment classes
The SLS enrichment classes are being formed for Mid-April. We would love for someone to bring a vehicle to the school parking lot and teach basic auto maintenance (tire pressure, check oil, etc.). Do you know someone who would love to teach our students? We are excited to offer a variety of classes this spring.
If you know an auto expert please contact Jenny Schebler at rjschebler@aol.com or Carla Austin at carlaink@yahoo.com. Thank you!
