Message from Mrs. Phelan
Dear Lowell Families,
We hope you are all doing well!
We had such a fantastic week. We are proud of our student's achievements and all the hard work they have demonstrated throughout this period.
MCAS ELA will be happening next week! Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will take the state test on Tuesday, April 9th and Thursday, April 11th. Please refrain from scheduling appointments or vacations on these days, as students must be in school all day. We appreciate your support!
In addition, families are invited to participate in this year's Lowell Walkathon. We hope our school's community enjoys it!
Thank you for your ongoing support of our wonderful school!
Have a fantastic weekend!
Best,
Stacy

Golden Leopard
We are amazed at how many students were spotted during March! We are so proud to see children in the school working hard to demonstrate their commitment to our core values.
The Golden Leopard reward was created to celebrate our students. If a student earns a leopard spot for each core value in one week, they will receive the Golden Leopard reward.
They will receive a special certificate; their names will be announced during the morning messages and appear in the family newsletter.
During this week, one student earned the Golden Leopard. Please congratulate Amos Birney and Jonnie Precht. Congratulations!
Community Events
Hello, everyone!
Last Saturday, several Lowell School students and family "planted" stepping stones in the schoolyard, near the corner of Orchard and George Streets, as Stage One of the Forests for Watertown* YardArt. The circle of stones is roughly where and how big the forest will be. (Forest planting this November)
CANCELLED due to wind, rain, and sogginess, YardArt Stage Two, Saturday, April 6, from noon to 2:30 – even our rain date of Sunday, April 7 looks too soggy and windy.
NEW PLAN – ART time at the LIBRARY: Drop in and make art at the Watertown Free Public Library on these two days...
anytime between 3 and 6 pm on Friday April 5 in the Lucia Mastrangelo Room on the 2nd floor (kind of near the computers)
or between 1 and 4 pm on Saturday April 6 in the Raya Stern Trustees Room on the 2nd floor (kind of behind the reference desk)
There will four cool art projects for the schoolyard YardArt – three with acrylic paint, and one with string and twigs. If you can, please let us know if you're going to come, or just drop in for a little while. THANKS!
We hope to install YardArt Stage Two on Monday and Tuesday.
We think the YardArt will make people curious.
And at the end of the month, we want to satisfy your curiosity:
Tuesday, April 30th from 6 to 8 pm in the Lowell Learning Commons,
please come to a Community Info Party – we'll talk about our ideas so far
and begin to hear your ideas. Parents, students, staff and neighbors, all invited!
Event partners are the School, the City of Watertown, Forests for Watertown,
and Watertown Community Gardens.
*This is a project of Trees for Watertown in collaboration with the City, the School, and WCG.
You can learn more here – The Forest so Far.
Annie Jr. at WMS
You are invited to the WMS production of Annie Jr. Tickets are $10 (Watertown Public School students are free) Tickets are available only at the door beginning 1/2 hour before the performance.
YardArt 2024:
YardArt is a uniquely Watertown event that celebrates creativity during the entire month of April! Everyone can participate, including families and individuals, by making art for their front yards, porches, or windows. For more information, go to https://www.mosesianarts.org/YardArt
Thanks so much. Let me know if you have any questions.
