We hope you all had a relaxing spring break! Believe it or not, fourth quarter progress reports will be coming soon. Please make sure you are monitoring your student's grades as we want to ensure our Wildcats are successful in all of their classes. If you have questions, please reach out to the teacher as soon as possible. As a reminder, there is no school for students on Friday, 4/12/24.

GradBash is Friday, April 12, 2024.
Students who are attending will need to arrive at the WCHS Gym at 3:00 PM on Friday, 4/12/24.
Prom
Prom will be held at the Bayanihan Arts and Event Center in Tampa on Saturday, 4/27/24. Prom tickets will go on sale from 3/11/24 -3/15/24 available for seniors only. 3/18/24 - 4/11/24 Juniors and seniors. Tickets will be sold during both lunches behind the media center. The ticket price is $100 and tickets must be purchased in person. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card. Guest forms and attendance appeal forms will be available starting 3/11/24. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Lerma or Mr. Walensky. Prom ticket sales are final after B Lunch on Thursday, 4/11/24. We are only able to sell 600 tickets so please purchase yours asap.
Extended School Year (Summer School)
Parents will start to receive information about Extended School Year via the mystudent app, on April 19th. You will need to accept the ESY notification for your student through the app. We will also mail a paper invitation for your student. All students who meet transportation requirements, which is farther than 2 miles, will receive transportation. ESY will run from June 10th- June 27th (please note that there is no ESY on Fridays during this time), from 9:15-3:45. Please note that ESY will be at Thomas E. Weightman Middle School for this year. Lunch is also NOT provided to students. Students will need to bring their own lunch. Please contact your student’s administrator if you have any questions.

Graduation Fees
· Graduation Fees are $100.
· The fees cover the cap and gown, medallion, graduation program, USF venue, diploma, and diploma cover.
· You can pay this now on https://www.studentquickpay.com/pasco/.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate with a Standard Diploma, you must have:
· 2.0 unweighted GPA
· 24 credits in specific courses OR 18 credits in specific courses
· Passing Scores on Algebra 1 FSA and the Grade 10 ELA FSA
· Sat for the Biology EOC, Geometry EOC, and the US History EOC
It is highly recommended that you take the SAT/ACT and complete at least 75 hours of community service.
Testing Information
Testing Information
End of year testing is very important for class placement and meeting graduation requirements. Please make sure your student arrives on time, rested, and ready to give their best effort.
-Cambridge AICE English General Paper 1 - April 25, 2024. (11th Grade)
Students will report to their testing locations at the start of 2nd period.
-Florida Civic Literacy Eam (FCLE) - April 30, 2024 (12th Grade)
Students will report to their testing locations at the start of 2nd period.
-Cambridge AICE English General Paper 2 - May 1, 2024. (11th Grade)
Students will report to their testing locations at the start of 2nd period.
-9th Grade FAST Reading - May 2, 2024
Students will report to their testing locations at the start of 2nd period.
-10th Grade FAST Reading - May 3, 2024
Students will report to their testing locations at the start of 1st period.
-FAST ELA Reading Retake - May 3, 2024
Students will report to their testing locations at the start of 1st period.
DUAL ENROLLMENT
Students who recently passed the PERT exam for Dual Enrollment need to complete a PHSC Dual Enrollment application at PHSC.edu. Click APPLY in the upper right and then select the Dual Enrollment application option.
Look for the email from PHSC with next steps including setting up their PHSC student email, completing new student orientation and the online readiness course, and directions for requesting summer/fall classes (this is not currently available).
SUMMER DUAL ENROLLMENT
Summer Dynamic Forms are now open for students who plan to take a Summer DE class. Summer Dynamic Form has been updated and is now available here!
Students may only take the Summer 10-week courses. You can see the Course Schedule here.
Students must fill out the Dynamic Form and the parent must electronically sign this (student will enter parent email). Then the school counselor and PHSC advisor will approve the class. All students will have to register for summer classes through PHSC WISE using the dates in pictures below.
9th grade and lower can take one class (online only)
10th graders can take up to 7 credit hours
11th graders can take up to 8 credit hours
12th graders would need to pursue Credit Banking or the second summer term as a degree-seeking student.
New Dual Enrollment students must have completed their PHSC student application, new student orientation, and online readiness course in order to register for classes in April.
Senior T-Shirts and Hoodies on sale
Senior T-Shirts and Hoddies may be ordered via the student fees portal. T-Shirts are $25 and Hoodies are $35. For any questions, please contact Mr. Walensky.
Extended School Day (ESD)/Test Prep/Tutoring
ESD is for students who need to recover a semester course failure to get back on track for graduation. Many course are offered in the ESD program, please know that not every course a student fails is offered in ESD. ESD occurs every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15PM-4:15PM and transportation is not provided. Students will need to be picked up each day at 4:15PM. Students can also attend math tutoring in room 132 on these days. Bootcamps for students needing to pass the FAST assessment or earn a concordant to meet graduation requirements may also attend for test preparation. We also offer Math tutoring every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15PM-3:15PM through Extended School Day, see you grade level administrator if you need help. If you are interested in your students attending ESD to recover a failed semester course, please reach out to your grade level administrator.
WITHLACOOCHEE ELECTRIC SCHOLARSHIP DUE 3/22! 2.0 GPA+ ELIGIBLE!
Students attending university, PHSC, tech, or trade school are invited to apply for the Withlacoochee River Electric Scholarship. This is Pasco County's biggest scholarship awarding students a total of $12,000 for their post-secondary education! Last year, over a dozen WCHS students earned this scholarship. CONSTRUCTION DAY FIELD TRIP MARCH 21ST (JRS/SRS ONLY)
Juniors and seniors with an interest in construction careers are encouraged to attend this hands-on/interactive field trip at Hillsborough Co Fairgrounds on March 21ST. Learn from industry professionals about potential job opportunities in various areas including highway, bridges, engineering, utility, geotechnical, and heavy machinery. No cost to students. SENIOR TRIP: BEYOND! CAREER AND TECH EXPO!
SENIORS! Please join us for our Pasco County BEYOND! Career and Tech Expo on April 23rd. If you are interested in career programs including apprenticeships, on the job training, immediate employment opportunities, and armed forces, we invite you to attend. The day will also include resume writing, career panel discussions, and interview strategies. FAFSA NOW OPEN! FINANCIAL AID GRANTS AND LOANS!
The 2024-25 FAFSA is OPEN!
The FAFSA helps students pay for college through federally funded grants and loans. All families should complete this free application to see the types of aid for which they may qualify. The 2024-25 FAFSA offers potential funding for Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025. If a student will be starting college coursework in the summer, they should ALSO fill out the 2023-24 FAFSA to cover the Summer 2024 semester.
Applications are available at FAFSA.gov. The student and one parent will first create their FSA IDs and then they will be directed to the FAFSA form. FAFSA offers a robust Help Center with frequently asked questions, online chat, and a toll-free number to speak with FAFSA representatives (1-800-433-3243). Need more customers? Advertise with WCHS! Each year thousands of people come to events on our campus and see advertisements for local businesses. This is an opportunity to get affordable advertising and help out the students of WCHS. Banners are printed by the school using your artwork with several sponsorship options. The term of the advertisement is one full year.
