State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness 2024
All students enrolled in Texas public schools and open-enrollment charter schools in grades 3–8 and specific high school courses are required by both federal and state law to participate in STAAR.
STAAR is an online assessment in mathematics, reading language arts (RLA), science, and social studies for students in grades 3–8 and high school and online tests in Spanish for students in grades 3–5.
MRE will follow the testing calendar below for STAAR 2024. This calendar is specific to MRE and may not mirror testing schedules for other KISD campuses.
For more information regarding STAAR, parent resources, practice tests, etc. Please visit the TEA Website.
Please contact our MRE Campus Testing Coordinator, Miranda Wilson for any questions regarding STAAR assessments.
Thank you for your understanding as we all work together to provide a safe and secure testing environment for our Mavs!

What is M&M (Mommies and Mavericks)?
Volunteers work in the LGI and help with cutting, laminating, sorting, and gluing projects for teachers. Teachers deliver their projects to the LGI with directions for volunteers to complete.
Helpers can stay the entire time, from 9:00-2:00, or come and go as needed. Visitors may not visit classrooms or disrupt the learning environment. We would love any time that you can provide!
*A form of ID is required in order to enter the building.
Thank you for helping our teachers with classroom projects!

Did you know? All students at MRE have free lunch and breakfast for the 23-24 school year. Attending breakfast is not mandatory, as many of our students choose to eat at home. However, we have a large population of students who rely on a healthy breakfast. We encourage students to arrive at 7:50 so that they are able to eat before going to their classroom.
Our cafeteria is open for breakfast from 7:50-8:10.
