Principal's Message
Good afternoon Canby High School Students & Families,
This morning, our amazing Cantalinas treated staff and students to an impromptu concert in the front hallway as they arrived at school. It was an amazing way to start the day. I am continually reminded of the vibrant school community I am blessed to serve. The choir was advertising for our Talent Show, next Wednesday (4/23) evening. It is open to the public and will be a great opportunity to see our students in action.
Last week was Unity Week. Our leadership students and clubs sponsored dress up days and lunch time activities to cultivate our culture of care at CHS. This week culminated in an assembly sponsored by ASA No Hate Tour. The No Hate High School tour combines professional BMX riders with a bullying prevention message. Students were treated to a half pipe X-games-esque show in the gym, and the riders even jumped Mr. Bellum.
Our outstanding Wind Ensemble finished 2nd in league and qualified for the state competition and our OHSET team had a number of athletes qualify for state as well. Additionally, Hailey Magenheimer, Sadie Schweitzer, Hayley Smith, and Madi Bigej all had top 5 places. More information about these can be found in the Athletics and Activities section below.
Our FFA Floriculture team took first place in districts this last week as well. The team consists of Melia Stoddart, Alexis Rodriguez, Aliah Fillis, Ali Mackay, Olivia Sutton, and Abigail Moredock. In addition to the team title, Stoddart earned first place individually and Rodriguez earned third.
Finally, CHS will be practicing a required lockdown drill next Thursday, April 25.
Have a Wonderful Week!
Best,
Cari Sloan

Important Information
What’s Cooking?
At school, there’s always a meal ready to be served!
Some mornings, it’s tough to find the time to make sure your kids are eating a nutritious
breakfast. On those days, why not send them to the School Breakfast Program? Each meal
meets government nutritional guidelines and standards. Schools are required to provide a
breakfast meal that includes fruit, whole-grain rich items, and low fat or fat free milk. Check
your child’s menu to see the variety of nutritious choices available at School Breakfast, or stop
by to sample the food yourself!
Library Texts
Canby School District libraries use CSD guidelines for selecting new texts. This school year, new titles for circulation will be posted quarterly on the CSD Library Curation web page to provide our community with this information. Please click here to learn more.Athletics and Activities
